Dog-friendly events in Perth you won’t want to miss this season!

Spring has finally sprung in Western Australia, and the change in season has brought along plenty of good surprises for Perth’s pawrents and their pooches! From fur-friendly photo booths to dedicated doggie breakfasts, this year more than ever it seems Perth has gone the extra mile to welcome our pups, and we’re fully on board with it here at Pooky and Boo. Here are a few of the dog-friendly events you won’t want to miss this season.

Dog’s breakfast 2019 

When: 6th October, 9am-1pm

Where: Kingsway Regional Sporting Complex

Returning for another year, the City of Wanneroo are bringing back their popular Dog’s Breakfast on 6th October 2019, and this year’s event promises plenty of fur-packed fun for owners and their furry friends. The event will feature lots of different dog-related stalls and perks including free vet checks, a fur-friendly photo booth, a live caricature artist and oodles of treats for your beloved pal. And don’t worry, there are plenty of activities for kids of the human kind too, so you have every reason to make it a family affair.

Fur run 2019 at Manning Park 

When: 13th October 2019, 10am-1pm

Where: Manning Park, Spearwood

Whether you’re a paw-rent planning a dog’s day out or a pup enthusiast after your furry fix, you’ll be in for a treat at the City of Cockburn’s Fur Run 2019. The event is set to be jam-packed with activities for pups in attendance, including a pooch parade, discounted dog washes, free doggie obedience training, and a special guest appearance from local dog celebrities, Erik the Brave and Sidney Swain. Not to mention the event is free so you can get all your fur-loving friends involved. 

City of Stirling Paw-some Day Out 

When: 27th October, 9am-1pm

Where: Yokine Reserve

Back by popular demand, the City of Stirling will be hosting the return of their much-loved Paw-some Day Out on 27th October at Yokine Reserve. This year’s event comes complete with a pooch pamper station, fur-friendly competitions and prizes, over 40 local businesses and Perth’s very own “dog whisperer”. Just make sure you bring a gold coin donation for entry, as the proceeds will be going towards Guide Dogs WA! 

Woof at Whiteman 

When: 3rd November 2019, 10am-4pm

Where: Whiteman Park

The creators behind Made-It Markets will be topping of another year of successful dog-friendly events with its final installment of Woof at Whiteman on 3rd November 2019. It promises to be a great day out, with plenty of pup-friendly stalls, food trucks, live music and kid’s entertainment for the two-legged troublemakers. Don’t forget to take your four-legged for a stroll around the nearby reserves for an added spot of local sight-seeing!

Perth pet Expo 2019

When: 16th and 17th November, 9am-4pm

Where: Claremont Showground 

Returning for the sixth year running, the Perth Pet Expo will be back in WA on 16th November to welcome furbabies of all shapes and sizes. This year’s event is full of attractions dedicated to our furry friends, ranging from your standard animal farm to the weird and wonderful (we’re talking camel rides and a canine aquatic competition)! You can even have your fur-friend strut their stuff in the best-dressed pet competition, or send in a snap of you and your pooch for a chance to become the face of next year’s event.
