Doggie drinking: the best dog-friendly bars and wineries in Perth

There’s nothing better than sitting down after a long week’s work with a glass of your favourite wine and your furry friend in tow. Whilst dog-friendly cafés have long been opening their doors to Perth’s pooches, it seems WA’s bars and wineries are finally following suit. Famous for more than just their tasty concoctions, here are some of our favourite venues embracing pet-friendly policies in Perth.

Henry Summer, Northbridge

Henry Summer, Northbridge

If you’re looking to party in style with your pooch, Henry Summer is the perfect inner-city spot to relax, unwind, and enjoy the endless summer vibes with your furry pal (regardless of the season). Dates of the dog-friendly variety are 100% encouraged in their pup-friendly wine and cocktail garden, and you can even order your pooch a treat of their own from the bar whilst you sip away at the venue’s signature Summer Spritz. Need more proof? Check out the hashtag #henrysummerdogs to see it yourselves from the bar’s furry regulars!

Odyssea Beach Café, City Beach

If you’re heading towards City Beach to enjoy some ocean views with your pooch, this is the perfect place to stop off for an early brunch or (even better) a beachside beverage. Pups are welcome in the outdoor alfresco area, and you’ll even find a special entrance gate dedicated specifically to your furry friends. With water bowls provided, your pooch can stay hydrated whilst you sip on some of  Odyssea’s own signature cocktails.

Ugly Duckling Wines, Swan Valley

For anyone venturing out of the city, this gorgeous dog-friendly winery has proved a popular spot for pet owners and their pooches. Located in the heart of Swan Valley, the family-owned winery is renowned for its gourmet pies, premium wines and (of course) its pet-friendly policies. With dogs welcome in the outdoor dining area,  you can enjoy sampling the local food and wines alongside your best pal and some of the finest views Swan Valley has to offer. If you’re taking a weekend trip, we recommend sticking around for Ugly Duckling’s live music on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

The Balmoral, Vic Park

For those located south of the river, The Balmoral in Vic Park is a great venue that welcomes both people and pooches with open arms...and if you’re lucky, some tasty treats. The paw-fect spot if you’ve spent your Sunday morning exploring Vic Park markets, this pup-loving pub allows pooches in their front courtyard and backyard at any time of day. If you ask the bar staff nicely, you can even get some doggie snacks to keep your pooch happy whilst you relax and unwind.

The Monk Brewery, Fremantle

If beer is your drink of choice,  your pup is sure to get lots of pats at this dog-friendly brewery in Fremantle. With award-winning beers, mouthwatering snacks and a pup-friendly terrace for furry friends, this is the perfect spot to savour some of Perth’s finest craft creations whilst enjoying a bit of downtime with your favourite furbaby.

WHO’S YOUR MUMMA, FREMANTLE

If craft beer, furry friends and an ever-changing cocktail list sound right up your alley, we may well have found your new favourite watering hole. With sleek industrial interiors to match the equally trendy, laid back atmosphere, this small bar in Fremantle has everything you’d want for a chilled evening out after a long week at work - cocktails, pooch-friendly policies and pork buns to die for!

Frisk small bar, Northbridge

Perfect after a day exploring the city, this relaxed little bar in Northbridge is renowned for more than just its dog-friendly approach to drinking. With over 200 gins on the menu, pet owners are sure to find the gin to their tonic in this pup-friendly venue.
